Djurgården equalised in the 66th minute through Jacob Une Larsson, but Elfsborg responded quickly. Simon Olsson won the match with a shot from the edge of the box in the 76th minute, again assisted by Jensen.
The victory means Elfsborg now sit in a solid fifth place in the Allsvenskan with 34 points after 22 rounds. The team has won three of its last five matches and is on a two-game winning streak. The recent form can be tracked on our stats page.
The match was even with 55 percent possession for the home side against Elfsborg's 45. Elfsborg created more chances with 15 shots to Djurgården's nine. Manager Björn Hamberg received a yellow card for dissent late in the game.
Leo Håkan Östman, the team's top scorer this season with six goals, started up front. He was substituted in the 75th minute for Ari Sigurpálsson. Elfsborg's next fixture is a home game against Halmstad on October 11th, an opportunity to build on the positive momentum. The full upcoming schedule is available on our fixtures page.
IF Elfsborg's 2-1 victory away to Djurgården at Tele2 Arena came after a goalkeeping error from Jacob Rinne. TV4 Play expert commentator Vicki Blommé said: "He should definitely have that." Rinne explained afterwards to SVT Sport: "It's a complex situation, I don't see anything." Elfsborg, now fourth in Allsvenskan with 37 points, have won three of their last five matches.
