IF Elfsborg has sold striker Emil Holten to German club FC Hansa Rostock. Holten came to IF Elfsborg from Danish club Esbjerg in the summer of 2024 and made 17 appearances and scored three goals before being loaned to Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK. He then moved to FC Hansa Rostock in the German third division and scored 15 league goals during the season. - Thank you for a short but very memorable time in Borås and Elfsborg. I have met many fantastic people and experienced some of the biggest moments in my football career. I am very grateful and happy for my time in a fantastic football club. The best memories must be to score goals in front of a full Borås Arena in the derby against Blåvitt. And of course, to score against Braga in Europe, he says. Club manager Stefan Andreasson says: - After the loan period, we have had a good discussion both with Emil and with Hansa Rostock and now we have reached an agreement that we are satisfied with. We wish Hansa and Emil good luck in their ambitions to reach 2. Bundesliga and thank Emil for his time with us where he contributed to our successful European play. I don't think we will forget his 1-1 goal against Braga after Gottfrid Rapps header and “lob” to 2-0 in the Allsvenskan win in August 2024 against IFK Göteborg.
